We have posts in our Boysen FB page that show two different interior spaces for you to choose from. This type of post is a good way to showcase how paint colors can impact your interiors. Whether you go for cool or warm colors, or neutrals or bright colors, you can see that paint is a powerful way to change the look and feel of your living spaces. I have chosen five different spaces—dining nook, kitchen, bedroom, display area, and a corner vignette—to show you the effect of paint colors on your rooms.

By the way, the photos being shown side by side are not the same space with only a change in wall color. Instead, these have different interior styles, so be aware that that could also affect the impact an image will have on you.

Cool or warm? Gray or pink? Both colors are modern and sophisticated. Your dining nook can be a cozy corner to break your fast.

The gray color is broody but not cold. Pair it with a contemporary sage and add a glowing red like the pendant lamps for a bit of a kick. That should keep things interesting while you eat your breakfast of daing na bangus.

If pink is your thing, this shade is warm and cozy like being wrapped in a cloud of tender feelings as you feel your child’s embrace. It’s definitely the best place to enjoy your comfort food.

Kitchen

Recently, the blog came out with the 2021 trends forecasted by interior designers about the use of moodier colors for kitchens, and this green you see here is in vogue. The sage kitchen evokes a fresh feeling of being in a cool arbor with tumbling foliage around you. Even if you are busy cooking for the family or making your week’s food supply, just hold that thought…you, sitting pretty in a secret garden, hidden behind climbing shrubs and vines, taking a sip of your restorative tisane.

But if energy is your middle name, opt for this bright and cheerful yellow. In our country where sunshine abounds, bringing the light and warmth of yellow into our homes just feels natural. A bustling kitchen is something to be expected from a people who love to eat. Make the place warm and welcoming with this happy color.

Bedroom

Blush tones in a bedroom look natural and contemporary, and bathes the space (and you) with a healthy glow. What’s not to like about that! Beauty sleep for a beautiful you! Keep the palette light and luminous by using white linens and  locally-made rattan furniture.

If there’s a color combination that is going to give the blush medley a run for its money, it’s this—the fresh green of sprouts and the sweetness of sugar dust. Fine geometric black and white patterns adorn the bed linen and art work, a chic complement to the wall design.

Display Area

White and light grey always work in any area in the home. This color combination looks clean and crisp, and is a classic. The color of wicker and light wood makes the combo look warm and cozy.

But if you want to play, go for this gorgeous violet as a backdrop for a brushed gold or copper metal shelf. It is feminine and elegant at the same time, which is definitely a keeper if you want to go for something more daring than white and grey. Giving free rein to an urge to experiment with your walls is still within the bounds of health safety protocols. So don’t hesitate. Start a DIY project with just one wall.

Corner Vignette

Make every square meter in your home count. You may have favorite spots in the home but do remember that your house is your castle, and every little bit matters. So dust off those corners and make them zing by giving them a purpose. People want to have a purpose in life. So do corners (an elf told me that).

Do you want to go for the sandy beach vibe of the light browns? Or does the cold, bracing mountain air get your blood flowing faster?

Take your pick and remember that corners don’t stand alone, they belong to rooms. So make sure that they really do belong as regards color and style.
