“Do you know what I like about comedy? You can’t laugh and be afraid at the same time—of anything. If you’re laughing, I defy you to be afraid.”

I see eye to eye with my favorite late-night show host Stephen Colbert. Laughter is one of the best antidotes to fear; it makes life bearable. We suggest you go to Studio B for more feel-good movies and stand-up comedy clips to watch when life seems bleak and dreary. No added worries because all the content you can stream there is for free after you sign up.

With so many choices out there, we narrowed them down and made a list of stand-up comedy acts you can check out on Studio B.

Alex Calleja

Studio B Watchlist: Stand-Up Comedy | MyBoysen

Be warned for those who are eating.

Calleja’s wise words are inspiring and funny. His best advice to his son, and I’m paraphrasing here, is that it’s okay if you’re not the best in class, just don’t poop in your pants at school. We’ll keep that in mind as a cautionary tale because we all remember that kid who went number two in his pants, but we’ve forgotten the name of the class valedictorian. In other words, better to disappear into oblivion than to be remarkable for a fecal matter.

If you’re that kid, seek comfort in knowing that we’re not laughing at you, we’re laughing with you.

Victor Anastacio

Studio B Watchlist: Stand-Up Comedy | MyBoysen

One tall Americano for Kiefer Ravena.

At first glance, we also thought that he is the PBA star player but, after a second look, we recognized that he’s the guy from the O Shopping network. We loved his impressions and laughed at his puns. My favorite bit is when he asked why the karate master was mad at his student, and he quipped, “Dahil siya ay walang HIYAH!” I know, I crack up easily and that has gotten me in trouble because I laugh even in serious situations.

GB LabradorStudio B Watchlist: Stand-Up Comedy | MyBoysen

Stand-up comics often talk about their personal lives, sometimes they’re too honest (and hilarious) for comfort. Labrador is one of those comedians. He provides us with a litmus test for knowing whether you’re too old to go to the club, that is, if the first thing you look for is a seat. I’m not even in my thirties, yet that’s what I would do. Heck, I don’t even go clubbing. Is that what they call it now? Clubbing?

Watch his other jokes that make a smooth landing here.

James Caraan

Studio B Watchlist: Stand-Up Comedy | MyBoysen

Alex Calleja’s poop joke has come full circle. Caraan is THE unforgettable student who crapped in his pants. He started his pooping streak when he was in kindergarten and it went on until his sophomore year. Nobody knew of his fecal crimes. He found an opportunity to confess when everyone was in a comforting and loving mood—their high school retreat. After admitting that he was the smelly culprit, nobody dared to approach and comfort him. In his defense, the voices made him do it.

Find out what the voices said here.

Red Ollero

Studio B Watchlist: Stand-Up Comedy | MyBoysen

Ollero’s larger-than-life presence and beefy jokes will make you laugh. In his set, he breaks fat stereotypes. News flash! Fat people are not always jolly. They don’t want to be called cute or to be tickled all the time. Expect a violent reaction! Also, stop pressuring them to eat a lot at buffets. Sometimes, they’re just there for a casual dining experience.

He goes beyond self-deprecating humor by dropping epic intellectual one-liners. He literally mentioned Lam-ang, that’s how epic it was.
