Pros and Cons
Textured finishes create a distinct style on a wall and bring an added element of interest to the space. The Konstrukt Lunar Series, for example, is a collection of 9 different faux concrete finishes. It’s just the thing if you’re going for industrial interiors.
In addition, textured finishes can conceal existing minor surface imperfections on your walls such as hairline cracks and slight unevenness. Those small flaws and blemishes won’t be as noticeable with a textured wall compared to a smooth one.
Dirt pick-up can be more of a concern though. To work around this, Boysen experts suggest pairing textured finishes that require a topcoat of paint (such as when you’re using Acrytex Cast), using paint products with a glossy finish. We recommend Boysen Permacoat in semi-gloss or Boysen Acrytex also in semi-gloss if you’re working within the Acrytex painting system.
