Thinner, also called reducer, has many uses in the painting process—to adjust paint viscosity, for cleanup, and as part of the process of priming metal surfaces, to name a few. Whatever you intend to use it for, you need the correct one for the product you have. Boysen carries several thinners and reducers. Here is a list of each one and when to use them.
Boysen Paint Thinner
for alkyd enamel paints like Boysen Quick Drying Enamel

Boysen Paint Thinner is added to Boysen alkyd enamel products, like Boysen Quick Drying Enamel, to adjust its viscosity. Paint that’s thinner in viscosity can be easier and more comfortable to apply.
For every 4-liter can of an alkyd enamel product, mix not more than 1 liter of Boysen Paint Thinner. Use it for cleanup as well for the appropriate products.
Boysen Lacquer Thinner
for lacquer paints like Boysen Automotive Lacquer

Boysen Lacquer Thinner is added to Boysen lacquer products to adjust their viscosity. It’s especially crucial when painting with Boysen Automotive Lacquer, which is only recommended to be applied with a spray gun. Before this can be done, the paint product must first be thinned with Boysen Lacquer Thinner at a 1:1 ratio.
Mixing ratios for Boysen Lacquer Thinner will depend on the product it’s used with. Boysen Lacquer Thinner can also be used for cleanup.
Boysen Acrytex Reducer
for Boysen Acrytex products

Boysen Acrytex Reducer is added to Boysen Acrytex paint products to adjust their viscosity for different purposes.
For example, it can be mixed with Acrytex Cast to thin it out to a sprayable consistency. This mixture is then used to add texture to concrete walls. Boysen Acrytex Reducer can also be used to combat cobwebbing. It’s added to Boysen Acrytex at a max ratio of 4:1 (topcoat to reducer).
Mixing ratios for Boysen Acryetx Reducer will depend on the product it’s used with. It can also be used for cleanup.
Boysen Epoxy Reducer
for Boysen Epoxy Enamel and Boysen Epoxy Primer

Boysen Epoxy Reducer is added to Boysen Epoxy Enamel and Boysen Epoxy Primer to adjust viscosity, making it easier and more comfortable to apply.
When applying with a brush, for every 4 liters of Boysen Epoxy Enamel, thin with not more than 1 liter of Boysen Epoxy Reducer. For concrete floor priming, the maximum mixture ratio is 1:1. Use it as a cleanup solvent as well.
Hudson Polyurethane Floor Varnish Reducer
for Hudson Polyurethane Floor Varnish products

Hudson Polyurethane Floor Varnish Reducer is added to Hudson Polyurethane Floor Varnish products to adjust viscosity.
When applying with a brush, for every 4 liters of Hudson Polyurethane Varnish product, thin with not more than 1 liter of Hudson Polyurethane Floor Varnish Reducer.
