Holding a special place in Boysen’s heart is the Philippine Eagle. Look closely and you’ll see that the bird on the iconic Boysen logo is actually of the Haring Ibon. Now, through the Angat Sa Lahat! campaign, Boysen continues to strengthen its support for the conservation of the Philippines’ fierce and critically endangered national bird.
Boysen and the Philippine Eagle Through Time
It’s an ongoing relationship. Boysen’s public support of the Philippine Eagle began 17 years ago. In 2007, Boysen launched a new corporate logo. Formerly depicting an American bald eagle, the logo was changed to resemble the Philippine Eagle—a fitting signifier of the paint company as a proud Filipino brand.
Along with the change in logo was Boysen’s adoption of a Philippine Eagle. Through an agreement with the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF), Boysen adopted what was then the youngest eagle chick being cared for by PEF in Davao City. The chick was named Pin-Pin, short for Pinturang Pinoy.
Since then and until today, Boysen has sponsored the care of Pin-Pin and has helped fund research efforts for the cause.
The Angat Sa Lahat! Campaign
The Philippine Eagle remains a critically endangered species. There is still a lot of work left to do to ensure the raptor has a safe and thriving future. And, the work is made easier when all of us join in. Incidents, like the death of an eagle by gunshot recently, should not happen anymore.
The Angat Sa Lahat! campaign by Boysen, in partnership with PEF, aims to help spread awareness through educational infographics via social media.
Among others, it will share facts about the bird, key physical features of the bird for better identification when seen in the wild, and guide on what to do upon spotting one. The campaign is also currently looking to set up an avenue for fundraising, possibly in the way of merchandise, for those who wish to donate to PEF.
With these, the campaign hopes to help bring the hearts of the Filipino people closer to the Philippine Eagle, one of the world’s largest forest raptors found nowhere else except in our homeland.
