We may not be able to change the events happening around us, but we do have control over how we choose to see and respond to whatever comes our way. Will we be defeated or will we fight to find the color in our lives? This 2022, let’s invite more cheer into our homes through lively and lovely hues. Color is nothing to be afraid of!  Play around a little and take inspiration from these living room spaces with fun colors:

Yellow, Can You Hear Me?

Nothing else can shine quite like yellow when it comes to being bold and bright. Yellow is an uplifting color and instantly brightens any room it’s in. Yes, it can get a little too much sometimes but it works wonders when used intentionally like in the living room above. Painting just halfway up the wall keeps the yellow from being overbearing.

Warmer yellow tones can be inviting and work well with deep, cool colors—such as the teal in the framed art and the emerald sofa. We love how everything in the room complements the wall color as well such as the warm wood tones and the throw blanket on the sofa.

Best in Blue

Where yellow invigorates and gives energy, blue is a soothing color. It reminds us of days with calm ocean waves and vast cloudless skies. In color psychology, it’s also a color of trust and resilience.

For your walls, you can opt for light blues, grey-blues, and deep blues but we would also recommend mid blues for those a little more daring. Mid blues are more eye-catching and make more of a style statement, don’t you think? To accentuate your blue palette, pair it with warm hues like honeyed wood.

Get Going with Green

As people of the modern age, a lot of us spend our time moving from one building to another—from our homes to our workplace and back. It’s a luxury to be able to spend a considerate amount of time surrounded by nature. It doesn’t mean we don’t crave the outdoors though. In fact, we book vacations so we can get out of the city and breathe fresher air.

Nature can be healing and green is a color that reminds us of that. Have green in your home to create a restful and refreshing space. As you may have already guessed, it works well with wood elements.

Ready for Red?

Red is a passionate and energetic color. It’s invigorating! It’s attention-grabbing and one that will surely be noticed by your guests when on your walls. Similar to yellow, painting the entirety of a wall red can be too much, however. It doesn’t mean you should scrap it altogether though!

For those wanting some red in their home, definitely consider a half wall. You can take a page from the photo above and add a design twist with a paint roller border. Want more suggestions? Find paint wall ideas on the Let It B Youtube channel including how to create an ombre wall.

White But Not Quite

Okay, for those who are still a little cautious with color, we understand. Painting with a striking color is a bold move that not everyone is ready for. So, let’s take baby steps. You can opt for white or off-white walls, but why not try injecting bold colors into furnishings and room accessories?

Play around with the idea of having more bright pieces in your space, then start small. You can bring in more colorful knickknacks, change your throw pillows, or even try your hand at repainting a stool an eye-catching hue.
