I heard from a Boysen colleague that people are iffy about having their paint color mixed at the Boysen Mix and Match Station. Why? Because most of them think that mixing the paint color will take a long time.

The truth is that it just takes a few minutes! A tinting machine takes care of dispensing the right amount of colors into a base color in order to make the color of your choice. In a matter of minutes…yes, minutes…you will be able to bring your paint home with you.

If you are in the home depot, hardware, or shop to buy other things, drop by the Boysen Mix and Match Station first to place your order. Just give the person behind the counter the Boysen paint name and paint code. However, If you don’t know it but you have a picture, then take your time to look at the fan decks to pick out your color. That will be the basis for the merchandizer to mix your color, unless, of course, it’s a readily available color (meaning you can get the paint off the shelf).

The Boysen Color Library

The Color Library: A Guide to the Colorbooks

Aside from home depots and hardware stores, you can go the first ever boutique shop of Boysen. It is called The Boysen Color Library.

The upside is that it has what we call Colorbooks, which are thick-cut MDF boards that have been properly prepped and primed to make sure the color painted comes out correctly. If you’re the tactile type, you can take the Colorbook out of the shelf and hold it in your hands. You can see it under a white light or a warm light. You can also compare it with similar colors before you pick THE ONE.

Another advantage is that 200mL pots are being sold in The Color Library. Buy the different colors you want to try out if you still cannot find THE ONE. Test all colors by painting them on your wall. Watch how the natural light and artificial light affect the colors as the day turns from day to night. This is a wise way to move closer to your perfect color if you are not sure about the exact hue for your home.

The downside though is that there is only one Boysen Color Library in the country. It’s located near IKEA Manila in the MOA Square, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

For those of you who are not in Manila, click on this link to find out how you can get 200mL paint pots.
