Hi Homies,
And just like that, 2025 is here! Many of you may already have thought about your new year’s resolutions. But some readers here (myself included) don’t have any. I never had, and I blame it on my lack of ambition.
Chances are, resolutions could include the following—lose weight, exercise more, eat healthy, read books, spend more time with family, or with friends, or in nature, explore a place that you’ve never been before, learn a new skill… Those are the usual suspects. Judging from the increase in inquiries in this blog and other Boysen socmed channels, do-a-home-makeover seems to be part of the list of many.
I saw a new year’s resolution list while I was surfing that really caught my attention. Unfortunately, I don’t know where I saved it. In any case, the list was about simple things like smile more, be kind, savor the sunrise (or sunset), prepare your meals with love, be grateful for all blessings… These are such simple goals, but it is in their simplicity that makes them so difficult to practice.
Grounding
After the turbulence we saw in the world last year, I really like the message from Pantone in its choice of Mocha Mousse for color of the year 2025. It offers much-needed grounding.
The color appeals because of its warmth and because, according to Pantone, it aims to “capture a global mood of connection, comfort, and harmony.”
All three—connection, comfort, and harmony—are important to me, and to you as well, if I may be presumptuous to say it.
Connection is crucial to a life well-lived. Most of us know from our experience with the extensive pandemic lockdown years ago that loneliness and social isolation can lead to serious health issues, even death. But it was not only during the pandemic that we saw this clearly.
Modern life brings about its challenges. Some of these are the anonymity of urban living, the alienation felt when moving to another place for economic reasons or a change in status, or the handling of personal and cultural differences. These can exacerbate the feeling of disconnection. Mental health experts say that community is critical for us to thrive.
Speaking of community, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each of you who have joined this community, and who visit us now and then. Your presence is much appreciated.
Back to Pantone, according to VP of the Pantone Color Institute Laurie Pressman, “…we look to a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial and comforting warmth extends further into our desire for comfort, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others.”
I just love that, particularly the last phrase of “the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others.” Sharing blessings can bring harmony. A joy shared is a joy doubled.
Boysen’s Color Matches to Mocha Mousse
Much to Love About Mocha Mousse! Here are Boysen Paint Colors Closest to It
I don’t know whether painting your home a brown color can bring you connection, comfort, and harmony. I do know that if you have these thoughts when you paint your home, you may be able to manifest these. Click on this link to see Boysen’s color matches for Mocha Mousse.
It doesn’t have to be Mocha Mousse though. If your heart is crushing on another hue, then equate that hue with the quality of life you’d like to live. Philosopher Neville Goddard once said, “Imagination creates reality.”
Or, as he said in this video, “Imagination is the canvas upon which we paint our reality. It’s the Wellspring of all creation, the birthplace of every invention, every work of art, every scientific breakthrough.”
That sounds very hopeful to me, and fills me with optimism about us, about life, about this world.
Each of us is the author of the life we live. Let’s give free rein to our imagination and write a beautiful story for ourselves this year.
Happy New Year!
