How many hours a day do you spend looking at your phone? The allure of screens is too great even for adults, so we can expect that it’s even more so with kids! In an effort to lure kids away from screens, turn their attention to how fun their bedroom can be. Here are some paint project ideas to spice up your child’s room.
Chalkboard Wall
There are so many possibilities with a chalkboard wall. Encourage creativity by letting your child doodle on their chalkboard wall—with no worries about permanent damage! Use it as a tool for teaching and make learning at home fun. You can even use it to track your child’s growth by creating a height chart.
Boysen Chalk It is a water-based acrylic latex paint that turns an interior concrete or drywall surface into a chalkboard surface. Yup, like a wall in a kids bedroom. Application is as simple and easy as other interior wall paints like Healthy Home and Virtuoso Silk Touch. Just make sure that your paint is fully dry before you use it. Wait for at least a week before writing on your child’s new chalkboard wall.
Activity Area
Get those little hands tinkering on something else other than screens. A designated area for activities will encourage more time for play and exploration.
Set up a kid-sized table and chair set in fun colors with art materials nearby. Low shelves where your child will have easy access to stimulating toys and books make playtime more inviting. If there’s enough room for it, a mini playground with monkey bars and a slide is guaranteed to get any child to put down a tablet.
Paint wooden surfaces, like furniture and cabinets, in bold and bright colors with Boysen Quick Drying Enamel. It comes in 22 readily available hues and, if that’s not enough, you can achieve more by mixing your own paint color with Boysen Oil Tinting Colors. Made to be durable and for high-touch areas, you don’t have to worry about this paint looking worn out anytime soon.
Bunk Bed
Kids love bunk beds. If you’ve got multiple children who are old enough for one, why not indulge them and get them their own? Even if you have an only child, the space below can be converted into more room for learning or play. It’s a workaround to consider for a small bedroom blessed with high ceilings as well.
Use Boysen Quick Drying Enamel for this, too. Whether the bunk bed is wooden or metal, Quick Drying Enamel can be used to paint both. And, again, you can make it as colorful as you want with a wide range of readily available colors to choose from. You can also mix Boysen Oil Tinting Colors with a container of Quick Drying Enamel in white to create a paint color your child will love.
Good luck and hope your kiddo loves whatever their bedroom turns out to be!
