Boysen Mix & Match paint mixing stations provide you with thousands of colors to choose from. Did you know you can get paint there in other sizes as well—not just 4 liters? You have to know where to look though. Here’s a quick guide.
200 mL
The smallest of the bunch, 200 mL containers are Boysen’s sample pots. They’re handy to have when you’re looking to test out a paint color before getting it in a larger amount.
These 200 mL sample pots are available only at the Mix & Match station at The Color Library by Boysen! They’re also available on the Boysen online store but only in limited colors. On the other hand, you have more than 1,000 colors to choose from at The Color Library.
A 200 mL of paint can cover 1.25 to 1.50 square meters in one coat. That’s enough coverage to visualize colors in different lighting conditions and how they will respond with other elements in the space.
1 Liter
Like the 200 mL containers, the only Mix & Match station that has 1 L paint sizes available is the one at Boysen’s The Color Library. So, if you’re specifically looking to get your hands on this size, head there. Coverage for 1 L of paint is 7.5 to 8.5 sq. m. in one coat.

4 Liters
Here’s the size everyone’s familiar with. Paint products, including Boysen’s, commonly come as 4 L containers. For example, you’ll find the standard colors of products such as Boysen Permacoat Latex, Boysen Healthy Home, Virtuoso Silk Touch, and Titan Superflex Elastomeric Paint in this size. They’ll be ready for you to grab off the shelves at hardware stores and home depots.
If you want more color options, you can head to a Mix & Match station to get a paint color mixed in this size. Note that not all colors can be mixed as every product available at a station. Availability will depend on product formulation and stock.
A 4 L container of Permacoat Latex, Healthy Home, and Virtuoso can cover approximately 30 to 35 sq. m. in one coat depending on the surface it’s applied to. For Titan Superflex, it’s 20 to 25 sq. m.
16 Liters
If you’ve plenty of wall to cover, this is the biggest paint size that’s available at Mix & Match stations. Not all products at Mix & Match stations can be mixed as 16 L paints, however, and availability will depend on the store. Best to check with the merchandiser on duty if they carry what you want. Coverage for 16 L paint is 120 to 140 sq. m. in one coat.
