Ever need just a bit of paint to test out a paint color? Boysen sample pots to the rescue. They’re literally quite handy at just 200 mL. Here’s what you need to know about them.
What is a Boysen Sample Pot
Boysen sample pots are, as in the name, a small sample of a paint color—200 mL to be exact. Similar to physical and digital paint swatches, a paint sample is a reference tool that helps you determine if a color is the right one for you.
With a paint sample, rather than a strip of paper or a color you view through a screen, you get actual paint that you can apply. Before committing to a full-size container, you might consider getting a sample of your chosen color first.
As mentioned, Boysen’s sample pots come in 200 mL containers. This can cover approximately 1.25 to 1.50 square meters in one coat. This size should be enough to visualize the paint color in different lighting conditions and how well it will interact with the other colors in the space.
If you’d rather not paint on the actual surface, you can opt to paint your sample on a scrap bit of material, too. Either way, as you’ll be getting an actual sample of a paint color, you can bet you’ll get an accurate representation of the color you want.

Take note as well that the Boysen sample pot you’ll be getting will come as Boysen Permacoat Latex, a water-based paint for concrete interior and exterior surfaces.
In-Store at Boysen’s The Color Library
The Color Library is Boysen’s one-of-a-kind concept store where more than 1,300 paint swatches are arranged like books on shelves for perusal. Everyone’s welcome to come visit and browse the colors.
What’s more, if you find a color you like, you can have it mixed in-store as paint and have it ready for you to take home in minutes. At The Color Library, you can have your paint color mixed as 200 mL sample pots or as 1 L containers of paint. Again, your paint will come as Boysen Permacoat Latex.
