After the portmanteau greige, or gray beige, we now have peige. This stands for pink beige. Yes! There’s such a thing according to interior design experts. This color is a soft shade of beige with a slight red undertone.

In the Pink of Perfection

Just a couple of weeks ago, I wrote about In the Pink of Perfection. And now, here we are, talking about peige. It’s not surprising really. With the comeback of beige, a light and versatile neutral color, it’s not a stretch that designers will reach for peige.

Pink Beige

Pink beige is the warmest of all the beiges. It is more “light brown” than yellow. Here’s what we’ve chosen from the many beiges with pink undertones that Boysen offers.

Personally, I prefer Puffy Tutu, Chinese Cherry, and Pout. Maybe you have other preferences. Color selection is deeply individual, after all.

Boysen has more pink beige colors available that are lighter or darker. It’s best to look at the Boysen BCP fan deck when you visit any Mix and Match Color Station in hardwares and depots. Find the station closest to you by clicking on this list of locations.

It’s very important that before you buy paint colors, you have to see the color swatches in the fan decks. Digital colors do not exactly match the actual paint colors because of the different systems and calibrations used in devices.

Peige in Interiors

Here are a few photos that may inspire you to go for peige the next time you will (re)paint your home.

Entryway

Imagine coming home to this entryway with peige walls and ceiling. The color gives the space a warm and toasty feel, underscored by the rustic look of furniture and accessories made of wood, weaves, and clay. Although, it has a monochromatic color scheme, it still looks very interesting because of the textures of the materials and objects.

Bedroom

This kind of bedroom really coaxes anyone entering it to let all cares fall away. The combination of creams, pinks, and beiges is an invitation to dive into bed, float on peige clouds, and be lulled into a deep, healing sleep.

Living Room

The peige wall color is picked up by the flowers, fabrics, and accessories. Like in the entryway and bedroom, a medium wood finish is used to create that light and delicate feel. Echo that vibe further by going for gossamer curtains that allow sunlight to stream into the living space.

Pretty in Peige

Peige is a beautiful, warm neutral that shifts from beige to pink depending on the lighting. It’s a versatile base color that gives the illusion of space. It’s best paired with soft whites, creamy beiges, and blush pinks, as seen in the photos. However, peige also works well with muted greens, warm terracotta, and earthy tones.

Should you want to tone down the floaty feel and create a grounding effect, you can use contrasting colors like rich browns, dark grays, and inky blacks.

Peige is a color that possesses nuanced undertones, which may make it hard to pin down. It would, therefore, be an advantage if you sample different peige colors on the actual walls before making a choice. Give it a day or two and watch the colors at regular intervals from morning to evening. Watch how the light affects the colors throughout the day. Here’s how you can do color sampling.
