Dear Lettie,
Can I use Titan Superflex Elastomeric Paint on roofs, and can it serve as a sealant?

Dear Roof-Repairing Boysen User,
First of all, I’d like to commend you for putting the effort in repairing roofs. As the rainy season approaches, it’s always good to ensure your home is ready for all kinds of weather.
As to your question, Titan Superflex is NOT a sealant and cannot be used to patch up holes on roofs. It is also not recommended to use Titan Superflex as a roof paint, especially for metal roofs, as it is formulated for application on concrete walls only.
Unfortunately, Boysen does not offer a product to meet your specific needs.
Where to Use Titan Superflex

Titan Superflex Elastomeric Paint is a self-priming, flexible water-based acrylic paint. It is capable of bridging hairline cracks when it forms on concrete walls. This is where the elastomeric formulation of Titan Superflex comes into play. The paint itself will cover up small imperfections that may form on the concrete surface.
Its flexible formulation, however, does not mean it can cover up patches and holes that appear on roofs. Titan Superflex cannot seal or bridge gaps formed on metal sheets. You need a proper sealant for and, as mentioned, Boysen does not have a specific product for that particular concern.
You can still, however, paint with Titan Superflex for interior and exterior walls, concrete ceilings, and concrete canopies.
Products for Roofs
Since Titan Superflex is meant for concrete, it will not adhere properly on metal or wood surfaces. There are specific paints for that, as well as primers for proper adherence.
For metal roofs, specifically, you have options for primers. Though if you are repainting, you can look into Boysen Red Oxide Metal Primer or Boysen Rust-Off Gray Alkyd Metal Primer. Both have excellent rust-inhibiting properties to help against corrosion.
For topcoats, your options would be Boysen Roofgard and Boysen Cool Shades. Both have their respective benefits, but are reliable water-based roof paints.

If you are planning to repaint, you can visit this link for a handy step-by-step procedure.
While Boysen may not have a specific product for sealing gaps or holes, I hope you can still consider these excellent roof paints. Repainting with Boysen can give new life to your roofs, your major protection from the weather.
Good luck! I hope this information has thoroughly answered your question.
Your painting partner,
Lettie
