We are starting a new series of moodboard videos to show you how we do it since we had been yapping about making moodboards for Boysen Color Trend 2026-2027 in the last weeks. For those of you who prefer to look at videos instead of reading and looking at still images, this post is for you.
We will be talking about other colors, not necessarily those found in the Boysen Color Trends. Having thousands of colors to choose from to create palettes for a home can be a challenge for most homeowners, who may find the slight changes in tints, tones, and undertones confusing. If you find yourself in this situation, just head on here and surf through our content to see the color palettes we have created throughout the years.
A moodboard is a collection of materials, color palettes, textures, and images that will help you move closer to your ideal living space, whether it be big or small. We all need visual help to make ideas and dreams more concrete.
A Bedroom for a Blissful Escape
There is romance involved in making this bedroom, the kind that is taken from Valentine’s, red roses, and wine that translate into the warm colors of bright burgundy and pale pink.
I saw a podcast about what the definition of new luxury is. It revolves around peace of mind, and no longer on material possessions. It is understandable why the pendulum has shifted this way considering that we are living in a hyper-connected world where we get overstimulated. Most of us want to wake up fresh and not feel any anxiety, to be able to move slowly instead of rush, and to protect our energy.
Having a comfortable bedroom that is your kind of perfect for self-soothing and nurturing when you go to bed at night and when you wake up in the morning, is a huge plus. We usually recommend having cool colors in the bedroom to help bring down energy levels when you are ready for rest. But as we’ve always expressed in this blog, do whatever feels good to you.
What is important is to choose hues that you equate with comfort and safety. You are the connoisseur of the best bedroom ever.
Boysen Products Used in the Moodboard
Paint Colors

We used three colors—pink beige, taupe, and deep red—for this bedroom. All colors are available in the Boysen Permacoat Latex line, which is a premium, 100% acrylic water-based paint designed for both interior and exterior concrete, brick, plaster, and drywall. Permacoat Latex is a quality paint with excellent hiding. It’s versatile because it can work on the usual four surfaces that our homes are made of. It can be used for interiors and exteriors. And last but not least, it can be used as primer and topcoat! In short, this paint is a top performer.
Oil Wood Stain

Apply an oil stain to any furniture, paneling, or cabinets made of wood found in your interiors to highlight the wood grain and protect the material. However, please note that you have to apply this product on bare wood that do not have primers or undercoats.
The Boysen oil wood stains are available in five colors. Wallnut is a rich brown with chocolate undertones that has become a top choice for modern homes.

Konstrukt Lunar Series: Koral

Here’s a surprise. Instead of going all-out feminine and creating a glamorous and sensual boudoir filled with velvet, metallic elements, and smooth marble, we went for the faux cement finish of Koral for the walls to create contrast. In unabashed gray, Koral is the perfect backdrop for the warm romantic red. Its textures invite tactility.
The visual contrast created by materials in a room, in this case smooth and rough, creates depth and dimension. The look becomes more attractive and interesting.
