People are moving away from a hedonistic lifestyle to one which is full of meaning and purpose rather than pleasure. We appreciate having more time to ourselves, unstructured and uninterrupted, to pursue authentic connections and transformative experiences.

Picture this.

It is the delight of waking up without an alarm clock, to hear the chattering of birds in the trees, to see dappled sunlight filtering through the windows, to listen to white noise that comes not from a machine but the rhythmic, soothing sound of waves breaking on the shore, to smell the freshness of a newly awakened day and the delicious smell of coffee and breakfast made by a beloved puttering around the kitchen. And as you awaken slowly to all these, you stretch and feel your limbs against crisp and clean linen on a bed that has nurtured your dreams through the night.

This is luxury at its finest, in a place you call home, where every day feels like a Sunday.

Paint Colors

The sea is a happy place for many of us island people. So for the color palette of this kitchen, we used the familiar baby blue and seafoam green found on our beaches, sprinkled these cool colors with the sugar white of sandy shores, and added the pale gray of pebbles dotting the coast.

We kept the colors light and airy to evoke feelings of calmness and nurturing.

The paint is Boysen Permacoat Latex, a water-based, 100% acrylic paint known for its excellent hiding and outstanding durability.

Permacoat Latex can be used on wood like the kitchen island and door, but you would need to prime the surface first with the water-based Boysen WoodPrime, which has the additional advantage of being low-odor.

Konstrukt Lunar Series: Koastal

To add an interesting feature, we used Koastal on the wall of this breezy, light-filled coastal style kitchen. The Koastal finish features a coarse, sand-like texture. This brings a modern and edgy vibe.
