There are four color palettes—FORGE, FACE, YEARN, and TOUCH in the Boysen Color Trend 2026-2027 called Currents. This is the last moodboard we will be making, and it’s for the TOUCH color palette.
The TOUCH Color Palette

TOUCH is the softest color palette in the latest Boysen Color Trend with its gentle, organic colors of browns and greens with the unexpected pale lavenders that inject a surprising energy to an otherwise monochromatic scheme. It’s a warm and inviting mix of colors that can be used in vintage or modern interior styles.
TOUCH Collage
We made a collage for the TOUCH palette.
A collage is a dream board that you can make to help you visualize your dream home much better. This is a brainstorming tool you can use to post images, textures, colors, and designs that appeal to you. Basically, this is broader, visual mix of your inspirations.
A moodboard, on the other hand, is more targeted. You would be able to define your interior design style and the color palette you’d like a room to have by adding the textures, fabrics, swatches, and samples, as well as your central photo inspiration.
Steps to Make a Moodboard
1. Set the interior style
We all have different tastes. There are many different interior design styles and you can always find one that appeals to your aesthetics. Having a style in mind will help you be more consistent in making decisions about all the other elements, like colors, materials, shapes, forms, etc.
2. Collect materials
Find visuals that would help you set the board’s mood. You can choose photos of homes that appeal to you, or get fabric swatches, wood stain samples, patterns, wallpaper swatches, or objects that inspire you.
3. Add inspiring imagery
You may already have one that resonates with the concept and mood you have in your head. Use this image to guide your selection of other elements.
4. Choose the color palette
Interior designers usually recommend having three colors—a dominant wall color, a secondary color for furniture or textiles, and an accent color for decor. Read about this 60-30-10 rule.
5. Curate and organize
Making a moodboard is an iterative process. No one begins with a perfect one. Experiment and make adjustments bearing in mind the interior style you’ve chosen. Anchor your moodboard with our key image and adjust your other objects around it based on the hierarchy or importance you give them. Swap those that don’t really gel with ones that do. Remember that a visually compelling moodboard communicates your creative vision.
6. Get feedback
If you live with other people, like family members, ask them for their feedback. This is very important for the rooms that they will call their own. Don’t be afraid of critical feedback. It’s a chance to finesse your moodboard even further.
TOUCH Moodboards
Here are two moodboards we made for the TOUCH color palette.
Modern Rustic Living Room

This living room plays around with the yellow and browns of the TOUCH palette. The rustic style relies on high-contrast tactile elements like the textured fabrics, the glossy finish of baked clay, and polished wood. These textures create a layered, warm, and inviting space.
The Charm of Local Materials

Local materials like rattan, solihiya, jute, and wicker weaves are essential materials in tropical design that are sustainable and lightweight, and exude a breezy vibe as well. They give an instant island life feel to your home even if it’s dead smack in the middle of a busy city.
Work around these materials with the browns and greens of the TOUCH palette to create your very own rustic oasis.
