Hi, Lettie.
Can Boysen Patching Compound be used to fill honeycombs on the inside of water tanks before applying waterproofing material?
Thank you.
From,
Boysen User R
Hello, Boysen User R!
Thank you for your message. We appreciate your trust in Boysen products! We do our best to provide you with reliable high-quality paints that meet, and even exceed, your expectations.
I do understand how you would want to smoothen out a surface before applying waterproofing. Unfortunately, however, Boysen Patching Compound cannot be used for the inside of water tanks.
Boysen Patching Compound is formulated for use on concrete and drywall only. We cannot guarantee that it will perform as intended on surfaces it’s not meant to be applied, like the inside of water tanks.
Sadly, for your project, we currently do not have a product that will meet your requirements. Who knows though? Maybe someday we will!
About Boysen Patching Compound
Boysen Patching Compound is a powder-type material combined with latex paint to make job site-mixed putty for concrete and drywall surfaces. It has a set recommended ratio of 1-1.5 kg of Patching Compound to latex paint. This takes the guesswork out of mixing job site-mix putty from aggregates.
For the paint to mix with Patching Compound, Boysen Engineers recommend Boysen Permacoat Latex Flat White.
Other Boysen Putties for Concrete
Aside from Patching Compound, we have other putties for concrete too that can be used straight out of the container.
For interior concrete surfaces, there’s Boysen Masonry Putty and Boysen Perma-Putty. Masonry Putty is used for imperfections that are less than 1mm in thickness. Perma-Putty, which is considered a high-build putty, can be used for imperfections up to 2mm in thickness.
For exterior concrete surfaces, use Boysen Acrytex Cast. This putty is tough, watertight, and able to repel water thus preventing seepage.
