According to Kenny Hoo of Good Feng Shui Group, “…this zodiac symbol (Wood Snake) of wisdom, transformation, and resilience promises a year of growth and renewal…With its association with rebirth and fortune, this year holds the potential for profound personal and professional breakthroughs.”
Sounds exciting. But one thing about growth, renewal, and breakthroughs is the need for powerful personal energy to be able to effectuate those changes. To be able to realize the potential, one important thing that can be done is to create a home that offers calm and comfort, where we can rest and rejuvenate.
The words clean, maintain, and simplify come to mind.
Clean
Writer Inah has this thing about cleanliness. She has written so many articles about how to keep your home clean that she has gotten it down to an art, in her posts as well as in real life. Her latest post on tidy tips is a good jump-off point to get you started on your own cleanup routine.
As Inah said, “The magic of cleanliness goes way beyond just having a tidy space. It’s like a secret ingredient that makes your home a happier and more relaxing place to be. So, the next time you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed, try tidying up. It might be the first thought that crosses your mind, but you’ll be amazed at how much better you’ll feel, both inside and out.”
Maintain
Home Checklist: Maintenance Tasks to Do Every Start of the Year
Writer Jill came up with a maintenance task to do every start of the year. Just like cleaning your home regularly, maintaining your home also regularly is important if you want your living space to bring you calm and comfort. No one wants leaking roofs, peeling paint, or home appliances breaking down.
Jill’s take on maintenance is as follows: “Keeping your home in tip-top shape requires work. This means having to carry out maintenance tasks every so often. Making a habit of doing them whenever January rolls around ensures they do get done and are out of the way for the rest of the year.”
Simplify
This is an old post which I wrote during the lockdown in 2020. However, much of it is as relevant today as it was then. The article talks about mindfulness and slow living, a healthier and sustainable way of life. With all the things that are happening in the world today, the best way to deal with the turbulence is to take care of things that we can do something about, and not worry about things that are beyond our control.
How do we make space for calm and comfort in this year of the Wood Snake? We can declutter and simplify, get rid of distractions, in order to have the physical, head and heart space to pursue the things that we value. Simplifying is aligning ourselves to our life’s purpose.
So, before the Wood Snake magnetizes you into its energy stream this 2025, get your home ready. Check out this link for paint colors that will help you embrace calmness. Clean, maintain, and simplify, and do what you can to make a space for calm and comfort in your life.
