Choosing colors for your home is an exciting step in the nesting process, and is also an exercise in self-discovery.

Some of us seem to be born with definite tastes; they have the edge here, and they move on to execution with ease. They are those, who in a few days or weeks, are ready to move in.

However, some of us can be totally clueless which means they would probably rely on their interior designers or stylists, if they are or feel rich enough to afford one. Or they would rely on a friend who seems to have gotten it together on these things, or family members who have very clear opinions about the matter. You could surf the internet, of course, and end up bleary-eyed at 2 AM, no longer clueless but awfully confused.

Which brings us to a third group of people, they are those who hop from one style to another, at least in their heads. Modern, minimalist, industrial, coastal, rustic, shabby chic, Proudly Pinoy…the list is endless. They are not very clear about their innate style, and are in the process of experimentation, which for some may last for years.

The good news is painting is the easiest and most inexpensive way to change the entire look of your home. So do factor in the time for self-reflection but don’t overdo it.  After all, we all are works-in-progress, so why not the colors of our homes too.

Go to your nearest Mix & Match Station, and have a color immersion.
