In the third installment of Boysen’s Set in Color Series to promote the latest color palettes of Color Trend 2018, the team brought their furniture and fixtures to the Garden Bloc of Cebu IT Park. Cebu IT Park is the region’s main hub for lifestyle, dining and business process outsourcing BPO where some of the country’s biggest companies’ main headquarters are located employing tens of thousands of people.
This time around, we brought a bathtub. Yup. You read it correctly. A shiny red bathtub. The purpose after all was to ‘Be Seen’ right? The BE SEEN palette with it’s bright blues and red was the ultimate showstopper against a backdrop of skyscrapers and the lush greens of the Garden Bloc park. It was a welcome burst of colors in the midst of everyone’s daily office routine. The days start pretty early and the nights run really late over here with the kind of hours that people in BPOs and call centers keep.
This Set in Color installment was probably the wildest one yet. Gone were the typical poses and smiles. The crazy ones were definitely out to play. The red bathtub was a fan-favourite with families, adorable kids, groups of friends, lovers and even pets (with their owners of course!) coming over to have their pictures taken in the wackiest of poses.
True to the theme of the BE SEEN palette, the set attracted different kinds of people who wanted their shining moment in the limelight. There were families relaxing, friends role-playing, couples being romantic and groups just horsing around. One who deserved special mention was the graceful ballerina/gymnast using the set as her very own personal stage. Another was a wacky post-bathtime shot of a girl just relaxing and reading by the tub with her hair drying in a towel.
The most adorable moments were of the tiny toddlers posing in the bathtub with only their heads peeking out. What could have gone through their heads? Hopefully, none of them asked their parents for a bathtub too. For the record, we take no responsibility for that. LOL! Spectators and park-goers also oohed and aahed over the parade of cute dogs posing at the set. I mean who can resist puppies?
Aside from the colorful furniture and fixtures, one of the notable pieces in the bathroom set was a Lichtenstein-esque version of Lapulapu by Cebuano designer Chad Manzo. No one has probably ever seen a depiction of the ancient warrior this cool and happy.
The sun was out and Cebuanos really showed up for Boysen’s Set in Color at the Garden Bloc of IT Park. A shout out to everyone who came through and don’t forget to live your life with every unique fiber of your being. Shine bright, be a star, BE SEEN!
