You know those short content we all see in social media that give us reminders to take in deep breaths throughout the day in order to release tension? These are in the form of short talks, quotes, prayers, or nuggets of wisdom. They’ve been around for many years, and gained traction during the pandemic. Many found them helpful to keep afloat, and some still do find them useful to help bring them to an even keel now that we’ve been living in the new normal in the last couple of years.
Breathe Videos
We call these short videos Breathe. This post is just to introduce its launch. However, they will come out in our Facebook and Instagram pages, to help nudge you away (or provide you an oasis) from the day’s stresses.
To give you a taste of what the Breathe videos are, here are two shorts.
Slow Living
Note to self: Choose slow living. Life is not a race.

Watch this snail enjoying itself as it rests on a rock while the rain beats down on its tiny body. Even the sound of the rain brings peace and comfort. Just stay in the moment.
Did you know that being busy is a state of mind and not reality? Simply put, what we’re doing at any given moment is the only task we are doing.
Multitasking was big in the 90s. It was thought that people were more productive if they multitasked. They were seen as more efficient. But that myth has been debunked. As psychologist Clifford Nass said, “People who multitask all the time can’t filter out irrelevancy. They can’t manage a working memory. They’re chronically distracted. They initiate much larger parts of their brain that are irrelevant to the task at hand.”
The pandemic and lockdowns brought us back to slow living (click on the link). This is as relevant now as it was when I wrote about it in 2020.

Note to self: Gather the honey that sweetens your life.

Regret about the past, anxiety about the future—both are damaging to mental health. Sure, there are advantages to doing shadow work on ourselves to be able to understand parts of ourselves that are hidden to us, and for which such understanding can bring about healing, and thus, healthier connections with people around us. But regretting the past and worrying about the future are just a waste of energy.
Self-help author Eckhart Tolle has this to say, ““Time isn’t precious at all, because it is an illusion. What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is out of time: the Now. That is precious indeed. The more you are focused on time—past and future—the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing there is.”
And why is it so important to focus on the Now? Because for Tolle, “The power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment: You create a good future by creating a good present.”
