‘Tis the season! If you’re not feeling it yet, maybe this will help. For the love of merry-making and all things jolly, here are color palettes inspired by the most wonderful time of the year.
The streetlights on the route I take to and from work are decorated with big red and white Christmas bells. In the evenings, they light up along with the streetlights. I’m going to miss them when they’re taken down next year.
It just doesn’t feel like the holidays without the Christmas decorations. Once the lights are up you know it’s that time of year already. From the big eye-catchers, like the tree and garlands, to the small knickknacks, every bit of decoration adds to the festive feel. In honor of everyone’s efforts to decorate for Christmas, I offer this palette.
Good gifts express more than their price tag. Sure, you’re almost guaranteed a big reaction when you gift an expensive present. But thoughtfulness and effort when it comes to gift giving deserve equal—if not more—praise and admiration. They show that you know a person enough to figure out what they would like and that you care enough to go through the effort of getting it for them.
There are only a handful of days in a year when we’re actively encouraged to be grateful for having friends and family in our lives. So, this palette is dedicated to all the wonderful gift-givers in the world. Sincerely, thank you!
We weren’t able to properly celebrate and have parties the past few years because of the pandemic. It seems like this year that’s finally about to change. We’re still going to be careful, of course. How can you not after what we’ve just been through? But I have a feeling the holiday get-togethers this year are going to be extra warm and joyous. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Filipino Christmas is a big deal. And all of it culminates into one special celebration that we all wait a year for—Noche Buena. However way you prefer to celebrate your Noche Buena, I hope this year’s fills you with cheer and becomes one to remember.
Getting These Colors as Paint
Gift yourself this Christmas! You can have all the colors featured in this blog post as paint by visiting a Boysen Mix and Match station (see a list of locations here) near you.
You can get them mixed as Boysen Permacoat Latex or as Virtuoso Silk Touch. Both paint products have their merits so read up on each one or ask about them at the hardware store. Remember to ask to see a swatch of the color you’ve chosen before having your paint mixed too. Colors can appear differently when viewed through digital screens.
