So you finally finished preparing your home for the rainy season. The walls are waterproof, gutters are squeaky clean, the drainage system is flawless, and blankets are fresh off the laundry just in time for hibernation… But aren’t you forgetting something? That’s right, look up.

Though every step you take in storm preparation is significant in creating a safe and dry home, gearing your roof to take on the changing weather is the most important part but often the most overlooked. Your roof is your first defense against the extreme heat during summer, and is as hardworking as it protects you from the rain. Look no further when it comes to maintaining the roof that shelters you, Boysen is here to help.

How Boysen Roofgard Protects Your Roof

Whatever the weather is, you can rest assured as long as you have Boysen Roofgard to cover you.

Technically speaking, Boysen Roofgard is a gloss acrylic, water-based roof paint designed to protect and adhere to most roof substrates such as galvanized iron surfaces, pre-painted galvanized sheets, asphalt shingles, and unglazed roof tiles.

With its excellent adhesion, the film remains intact for a longer period of time and can endure the changing weather without cracking or peeling. Boysen Roofgard is durable. It provides excellent UV resistance and good gloss retention so you can guarantee that the film will retain its original color for many years. It can also inhibit flash rusting on metal surfaces and provides good corrosion resistance thanks to its specially formulated acrylic binder and pigment combination.

It is safe to use not only for you but also for the environment. Since it is water-based, it does not use hazardous solvents and does not contain lead or mercury. When it comes to thinning, you can just add clean water instead of thinners or any other solvents. Plus, clean-up will be easier as fresh paint drips can be cleaned by water and detergent.

Paint your roof now before it’s too late and we’re in the middle of the rainy season. Make sure you don’t miss a step by reading our previous feature on the proper usage and painting schedule of Boysen Roofgard.

Boysen Roofgard’s Available Colors

Oh, just a friendly reminder. Before heading to your local hardware store, decide on the color of your roof first. You can choose from the available colors below:

If you’re aiming for lighter or pastel shades, you may use Boysen Latex Colors for tinting. Take note though that you can’t use Toluidine Red and Hansa Yellow on exterior surfaces. For darker colors, intermix the standard ones. You got this!

Next time when the rain is over, head up to your roof and lie down on your freshly painted roof while enjoying a night sky full of stars. Just be sure to bring a blanket with you to keep you warm through the whole night of stargazing.
