There’s no lack of love or appreciation from Filipinos when it comes to our country’s beaches. We flock to seaside destinations found all over our archipelago during the summer months and public holidays.

And, this year, an international awarding ceremony has confirmed what we already knew—that our beaches are world-class. The Philippines was recently named the world’s leading beach and dive destination at the World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2022. So, what are you waiting for? Tara, dagat!

While you wait for your travel date, allow us to remind you of the Philippines’ pristine crystal-clear waters with colors from the Live palette from the Boysen Color Trend 2022/23 collection. We’ve divided the palette, which consists of 6 colors, into two. Check it out:

Get your feet wet and let the waves gently rock you. Near the shore, the sea isn’t a deep blue but in brighter hues. It may be in an aquamarine tone like Hidden Oasis. Aquamarine literally means “water of the sea.” As a birthstone, it symbolizes serenity. Just the word to describe a lazy afternoon looking out into the ocean.

We also have Mellow Mint in a sky-blue hue. A sunny day without a cloud in sight is what one always hopes to have when on the beach. The light gray hue Silver Streak balances everything out with its quiet confidence.

For inspiration on how to use these colors at home, look to the coastal interior design style. Remember that this style is all about furniture in wood or rattan, fabrics in rough linen or cotton, and avoiding textures and finishes in metal. One of the best things about being at the beach at dusk is watching the sunset over the horizon. The colors burst in the sky and are reflected in the sea. Everything around you is bathed in a warm glow.

Here, we have Marine Sanctuary, a sparkling blue hue, and Sahara Sunset, a deep orange. Blue and orange are complementary colors. This means that though they are opposites on the color wheel, they pair well not because they are similar but because they contrast. They make each other stand out. Gray once again provides balance in the paint color Cool Tides.

Try these colors out in a Midcentury Modern interior design style. Remember, when it comes to this style the key is to have simple and clean lines. Nothing too ornate because the focus is function. Wood and metal are common materials for furniture. And don’t be afraid to have bold colors as accents.

Like any of the colors featured above? You can have all these hues and the others also included in the Boysen Color Trend 2022/23 collection as paint at a Boysen Mix and Match station (find a list of locations here).
