My current status: sleep-deprived, anxiety-ridden, and perpetually clenching my gut from stress. My calendar is overfilled with meetings, deadlines, doctor’s visits, grocery trips, car maintenance schedules and so on. Even when I do get a weekend off with next to nothing on my to-do list, I’m too tired to even lift a finger. It’s a one-way road to burnout town and I’m driving there at the speed of 120kph. When I get sucked into the vortex of everyday life, i constantly have to remind myself to breathe. Let’s all schedule a restful retreat, shall we? With the relaxing color palette of Color Trend 2022’s BREATHE.
Wake up with the Sunrise
The night before, change your usual alarm to something more soothing. If you can, wake up with the sunrise. Set the tone for a more loving and gentle day ahead. It all starts with baby steps.
Stretch it Out
Instead of reaching out for your phone and scrolling through Facebook or Tiktok, reach for your yoga mat instead. Do some light yoga routine first thing in the morning. Stretch out those joints and muscles. It’s a good way to meditate as well.
Coffee is an important part of the day for a lot of people. This time, instead of rushing through your morning cup of joe, savor each sip. Whether it’s from a 3-in-1 packet or hand-ground beans, appreciate the deliciously bitter flavors enveloping your very soul.
Make Time for Hobbies
Set aside some time to tap into your creative side. It could be writing, drawing, painting, or even baking. If you have the tools, pottery is also a very tactile way to destress and create something beautiful in the process. Remember, there is no space for judgment here. Everything you create is unique in its own way.
I usually love winding down at night with a tall glass of wine. But we all know alcohol can really mess up your sleep. Try something more calming and soothing like herbal teas. My personal favorite bedtime tea? Chamomile and lavender. They taste even better with a small dollop of honey.
Take Care of Yourself
Taking care of your body comes in many different forms. It’s about eating healthy, exercising, meditating, and, yes, skin care. It’s nothing superficial. Why shouldn’t we take care of the largest organ of our body? Start building your skin care routine early on. Your middle-aged self will thank you.
Remember to Breathe
The Breathe color palette is a gentle reminder for everyone to take it slow in this fast-paced society we live in. Life is not a race. Literally try to stop and smell the roses. Even the simplest thing like breathing, we forget how important it is. Unclench your jaw. Relax your shoulders. Remember to take deep, mindful breaths.
We purposefully chose soothing shades to be part of Color Trend 2022’s Breathe color palette. The palette consists of tender and subdued hues. If you’re looking into creating a cozy cocoon at home, this is the palette for you.
