What do olive, tea, and brat have in common? If you replied GREEN, then you got it right.

But there’s green and there’s green. In fact, I wrote about the greens in the latest Boysen Color Trend 2024-2025. Click on this link to read the post. There are four of them, ranging from dark to light. Each would give your space a different kind of mood.

The greens—olive, tea, and brat—are what are trending too. You’d see these greens in home products, a recording artist’s album artwork, and fashion items.

Olive Green

Olive Green‘s closest color match is Boysen’s Life Sprout from the latest Boysen Color Trend. It’s  a dark yellowish green color that is sophisticated and subtle. It mixes well with beige, brown, and gray, if you prefer a muted feel to your rooms. If you want a brighter ambience, add touches of yellow, maroon, and orange.

It gives the vibe of stability and grounding, and would work well for an eco-chic interior style. Paint your home with this color to get that organic, relaxed atmosphere.

Green Tea

Green Tea‘s closest color match is Boysen’s Nature Walk, which is also from Boysen Color Trend 2024-2025.

I’d consider this color to be a mix of the beloved matcha and sencha green teas of Japan. The color is a desaturated lime green that is restful for the eyes and gives a space the feeling of tranquility.

Just like tea, this color is more of a quick pick-me-up compared to the laid-back vibe of olive green.

Brat Green

Once you see Brat green, you can never unsee it. It’s almost violent in its acidity. Descriptions of brat green are noxious, abrasive, bilious, slime, puke…you get the drift.

But why is it so famous?

It’s because pop provocateur Charli XCX used this color on her album artwork. You probably have seen this in social media as countless, mostly young, fans have embraced this color. She changed the craze from last year’s Barbie pink to this Brat green. Even fashion houses like Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, and Kate Spade, are using this color for their summer collections.

So would I use this color in my home? Heck, no! I don’t want to go blind, or at the very least, stressed out in my own home. I remember writing about 3 unloved colors in 2021, and puke green is definitely one of them.

Green paint can make your space look cozy and restful but do choose the right kind of green, one that is light or vibrant but not neon. For your home, you’re best bets would be olive green and green tea. If you really want to be trendy, just add a few home accessories that are in brat green.

There’s another Boysen color that I like called Hidden Glade. It’s a very calming green, and would look good in any room in the house. For more greens from Boysen, read this The Best Version of Hue: Green.
