If you’re painting, you’ll need to choose colors so it’s very likely you’ll come face to face with paint swatches and fan decks. Feeling lost and overwhelmed? We’ve got you. Here’s where to find them, how to get them as sample pots, and where to get them as paint.

Know All Your Options

Before anything else, it’s important to be familiar with where you can find Boysen paint swatches and fan decks in the first place.

Brochures and Tinting Colors

You can see all the readily available colors of a product, say  Quick Drying Enamel, by looking through its brochure (available in digital format in the Boysen website) or via the Boysen App.

Check if your chosen product has tinting colors so you can mix a color yourself. For example, did you know you can tint Boysen Acrytex to get it in more colors other than white? Find more info here.

Mixing Stations

You can ask to see the Boysen fan decks at Mix & Match stations to browse all the colors you can have mixed for products like Permacoat Latex and Healthy Home. You can get up to a thousand options here!

If you would like to have your very own fan decks, they’re available for purchase in the Boysen website’s online store.

Boysen App

For convenient color browsing wherever you are, download the Boysen App. Here you can see all of Boysen’s fan decks, all of the readily available colors of a Boysen product, a library of colors you can achieve with tinting colors, and more.

Just make sure to ask to see the physical swatch in person at Mix & Match stations as colors may appear differently when viewed through a screen.

Of course, you’ll come across lots of color swatches in this blog with tons of ideas on how to use them at home. See what blog posts catch your eye in Color Inspirations and Room Paint Ideas.

Take Note of Codes

Once you have a selection of colors that you like, take note of their color names and don’t forget to jot down their color codes too.

You can use the color code on the Boysen App to see more details about your chosen color. With the Search tool and the Colors tab selected, you can select your color and see its digital swatch, code name, and other specifics about it including if it needs a colored primer in place of a white one.

And, if your color is available only at mixing stations, you can take the code to a Mix & Match to make it easier for staff on duty to know which exact color you want mixed.

Test Out a Paint Color: Where to Find Boysen Paint in 200 mL Sizes | MyBoysen

Go from Swatches to Sample Pots

The best way to know if a color is right for your space is to test it out. You can find some Boysen products that come in 1/4 L containers like Boysen Quick Drying Enamel. If you’re painting walls though, you might need products, like Boysen Permacoat Latex, which come in 4 L containers.

No need to fret. You don’t have to splurge on a 4 L container to do this. This is what sample pots, which come in more affordable 200 mL containers, are for.

Boysen’s sample pots can cover approximately 1.25 to 1.50 square meters in one coat. This gives you enough coverage to visualize the paint color in different lighting conditions and how it will well it will interact with the other colors in the space.

You can also find sample pots at Boysen’s The Color Library. It’s a one-of-a-kind concept store with beautifully arranged and curated paint colors on shelves which can also be mixed as samples in-store. They’re also available online via the Boysen website.

Hopefully, you remember these tips when you’re next in need of paint swatches and fan decks!
