We had you, the Boysen user, in mind when we created the Boysen app. So, we included a bunch of features that you would find useful whether you’re planning a painting project or just daydreaming about your next one. Here are just 5 of the tools you’ll be able to find in the app (because there are more we didn’t include in this list!):

1. Choose Your Paint

Get recommendations for which paint product/s to use for your project.

Whether you’re repainting or painting on a bare surface, you’ll need to know the correct products to use for your project. Choose Your Paint on the Boysen app makes this step a lot easier and eliminates guesswork.

First, it determines what surface you’re working on and your desired finish (ex. plain or textured) through a series of multiple-choice questions. Then, you’re given your recommended product or products. Easy!

Remember, using the wrong type of paint for a painting surface is a common mistake that should be avoided at all costs. It can lead to problems that can be difficult to resolve and waste precious time, money, and effort.

2. Paint Calculator

Find out how much paint you need to buy.

Estimate how much paint you need beforehand so you don’t suddenly find you need more or waste money with lots of leftover paint. Use the Boysen app’s Paint Calculator feature before you check out.

For Paint Calculator, you’ll be asked the same set of questions as Choose Your Paint including what paint product you plan on using. You will also need to specify the area of the surface you’ll be painting in square meters.

Once you input the necessary info, the Paint Calculator tool will be able to give you the number of liters of paint for sufficient coverage! It will even show you the info for other products you can use with your chosen paint such as primer and putty.

3. Color Collection

Browse Boysen’s collection of more than a thousand paint colors at your fingertips. All need is the Boysen app and you get access to several Boysen fan decks and Color Trend collections.

Once you have a color you like, head over to your nearest Boysen Mix and Match station (list of locations here) to have it mixed. You can choose to have paint mixed as Boysen Permacoat, Virtuoso Silk Touch, Boysen Healthy Home, and Titan Superflex Elastomeric Paint. Note, however, that not all colors are available as all of these products and paint product stock will depend on the location. Make sure you check the paint swatch in person too as colors can appear differently when viewed through a digital device.

4. Visualizer

See how a color will look in your space.

Sometimes, it’s difficult to tell if your planned wall paint color is going to work out or not. The Boysen app can help you get a better picture—quite literally.

The Visualizer tool lets you take a photo (or choose one from your phone’s gallery) and color it in using any of the more than a thousand Boysen paint colors available. This way, you get to see what your paint project may look like without having to buy anything yet.

Use it as a guide because, of course, colors can change depending on several factors including sheen and the quality of the light in the room.

5. Products

Get familiar with how to use different Boysen products.

Each paint product has its own set of instructions to be followed to achieve the intended result and avoid mishaps. For example, did you know that Boysen Plexibond, once mixed with Portland cement, has a workability period of 30 minutes and a potlife of 2 hours? It’s useful info like this that you’ll be able to find in the app when you look through the product information sheets.

You can scroll through Products to get info about a specific paint product or use the Search tool to find what you need quickly. Here’s a guide on how to use the Search tool when paired with a product code.

The Boysen app sounds great, right? It’s free and can be downloaded via App Store for iOS users and the Play Store for Android users. Enjoy!
