Scroll through the Boysen Facebook page and you’ll notice the Boysen PinTanong series. It’s where we provide answers to commonly asked questions about painting. This would cover everything from clarifications on the usage of Boysen products to inquiries on proper painting procedures.

And with that, we’re happy to announce that we’ve now turned it into a video series! We’re calling it the Boysen PinTanong videoserye!

The Pintanong Videoserye

For its first episode the PinTanong videoserye will tackle one of the easiest painting tasks one can do. It will be all about repainting a concrete wall that’s still in good condition and has no existing problems that need solving before painting. Engineer Kim from the Boysen Technical Service Department walks you through the process.

A chemical engineering graduate (and frustrated dancer), Engineer Kim has been with Boysen for 5 years sharing his chemistry know-how and providing painting advice to Boysen users all over the country. He makes painting look easy—because, according to him, it is once you get the hang of it!

Watch and be convinced.

Here’s a summary of the steps:

Step 1:

Check the condition of the surface you want to paint. If there are existing problems, like chalking, peeling, and mildew, you will need to address them before you start painting. Otherwise, if the paint is still in good condition, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2:

Sand the surface lightly. This will help the new topcoat adhere to the old paint.

Step 3:

Clean the surface to remove any sanding dust and dirt.

Step 4:

Apply 2 coats of your chosen topcoat.

Even if you read the summary above, you should still watch the video! It shows you how to carry out the steps in more detail and goes over commonly asked questions, such as if you need to apply a concrete neutralizer or a primer too.

There’s More to Come!

As you can tell, with this new video format, we’re able to include a lot more useful and practical info for the Pinoy painter. Instead of being just one question per social media post, each episode will have a step-by-step video demo on how to paint different surfaces that vary in condition. For example, we’ll show you how to paint on concrete walls with painting problems like peeling and chalking, or a metal roof with rusting.

We’ve made sure to keep things easy to understand as well so following along will be a breeze. We’ve also included Boysen product recommendations, of course, so you won’t get confused about what to get once you’re at the store.

We’ll be releasing more episodes for the PinTanong videoserye so keep an eye out for more.

Leave us comments through any of our platforms—Facebook, Youtube, and this blog—if you have any questions on painting or want to suggest topics for us to discuss in the series.

Happy painting!
