To those who are planning to paint their home exteriors, now is the best time to do it while we are in the dry season. Take advantage of the sunshine days to beautify your home.

We usually talk about painting home interior spaces. DIY projects are “easier” to do within the home unless you are going to use Boysen special products like Konstrukt for the modern, industrial style, or the duco finish for that extra shine and sparkle.

If painting your home exteriors would be limited to small areas like repainting doors or window trims, DIY is a way to go. Otherwise, it is best to call in the pros to do the job. The sheer size of the project and possible complexities would be best left to the experts. Be aware that repainting may need more than just providing a cosmetic change, the state of your exterior walls also has to be assessed. Any repair needed has to be done first before your painters can start applying the topcoat of your choice. Your budget would have to include the cost of the paint, other products that may be needed, and labor. The good thing about painting home exteriors though is that if done well, it will take years before you would need to do it all over again.

Colors for Home Exteriors

Paint Your Home Exteriors Now | MyBoysen

Choose the colors of your home exteriors well because you have to live with the results for years unless you have money to burn. If your home has wall claddings (e.g., wood, stone, brick, tiles, etc.), consider their colors when choosing the color for the parts you want painted.

White, grey, and beige are the usual suspects. Green, yellow, and other earthy colors like terracotta, are fairly common too.

I saw a chartreuse house somewhere in Quezon City. It stood out, or more accurately, it screamed out, “LOOK AT ME.” It was a truly remarkable and unforgettable sight. Did I like it? No, but who cares. I am very much for individualism—the only thing that matters is if you, the owner, like it. This reminds me of a recent newspaper article of an Indonesian father who named his baby after his workplace, the Department of Statistical Communication. The child might not like this though when he grows up, and unlike paint, it will not be so easy to change.

For painting advice, don’t hesitate to call our Technical team during office hours at (02) 8363-9738 local 417 to 418, or write an email to ask@myboysen.com.

Happy painting!
