Everyone loves an underdog. I asked our resident blog graphic artist, Mira, to pick from the Boysen product brochures what she thought were some of the most underrated and overlooked paint colors. These are hues that may not be a homeowner’s first choice but, once you get to know them, find that they might just be what you were looking for all along.

For Your Living Room

Vibrant yellow may seem like a difficult color to work with, but we’re here to convince you otherwise. Sure, having it all over your walls may be too much. Using it as a pop of color though, like for your wooden door, is a different matter. It’s just the right amount to brighten up a room and give your space a point of interest. For this try a Quick Drying Enamel shade called Lemon Yellow.

Our graphic artist balances out the yellow door with a subtle muted teal from Healthy Home that’s calming and gentle on the eyes. Boysen Healthy Home is low-odor so painting with it is a breeze too.

For Your Kitchen

Repainting kitchen cabinets? Consider luxurious and stunning emerald green. In a glossy Quick Drying Enamel finish, it’s a bold and timeless choice. Plus, the glossy finish also gives it a surface that’s easy to clean. Lean into chic and sophisticated, by pairing it with a Permacoat Latex pink shade on your walls.

Both of the products mentioned can be used on exteriors as well so if you want to use this combo on other areas of your house, go right ahead! Just make sure you use them on the recommended surfaces stated in their corresponding product guides.

If you prefer neutral colors, these two Virtuoso Silk Touch shades are beautiful for room walls. They can go overlooked as they lean more towards brown and those looking to create maaliwalas rooms often go for shades closer to white. White, however, can easily turn harsh in excessive amounts. Brown, in comparison, creates warm and inviting spaces.

And you can’t go wrong with Virtuoso Silk Touch either. It dries to a luxurious silk finish with a matte sheen that can elevate the look of any room. It makes the space feel cozier and more elegant as it lacks the shine of glossy paint. It’s manufactured with a surface protector as well so dirt and oil don’t easily stick to it helping ensure your paint looks good for a long time.
