We can’t sing enough praises for the Boysen App. Okay, we may be a bit biased since we made it but it really is a wonderful app to have when you’re working on a paint project (using Boysen products, of course). We hope by sharing these tips and tricks, you’ll love it as much as we do!

Take Advantage of the Paint Tools

3 Boysen App Must-Know Tips and Tricks | MyBoysenWhen the Boysen App was being made, the team working on it thought long and hard about what painting tools to include. Like any good tool, they should make the task at hand—in this case, painting—easier to accomplish. They decided on a handful that experienced and newbie painters would find useful.

To name a few, first, there’s the Paint Calculator that estimates how much paint you need to cover your surface. Not sure which product you need? Choose Your Paint recommends which specific ones are appropriate for your project.

What if it’s choosing a paint color that you’re having difficulty with? Mix Your Colors shows you paint colors you can achieve using colorants. Visualizer lets you snap a photo and virtually color it in with your chosen paint color. Color Capture is a color picker tool. Upload a photo of a color you like and it comes up with a list of paint colors that are close to it in shade.

Check a Product’s Finish, Packaging, Tinting, and More

Knowledge is power. Learning about a paint product before you actually use it will steer you away from paint problems and costly mistakes. The Boysen app has a lot of the basic product info you need and a lot more. You simply need to know where to look.

Every product on the Boysen App will have a portion containing its technical data. This will include other less commonly known info such as all the finishes the product comes in, all the packaging sizes you can get it in, which Boysen colorant you can use to tint it, and—for the professionals out there—even the product’s vehicle type.

To view a product’s technical data, you’ll need to go to its product page. Do this by either picking your chosen product from the Products list or finding it using the Search function. Once there, just tap on the Technical Data tab and you’ll see the mentioned info above.

Look Through Color Collection for Boysen Mix & Match Colors

Color Collection contains the paint colors you can have mixed at Boysen Mix & Match stations. It contains 4,000 paint colors—yes, that many. So you don’t get overwhelmed, we suggest first looking through the Boysen Color Palette (BCP) as it’s a large collection of paint colors on its own.

The colors in the BPC can also be mixed as Boysen’s popular products for homes namely Boysen Permacoat Latex and Virtuoso Silk Touch. On the other hand, if your chosen paint product is Boysen Healthy Home or Titan Superflex, look through Series G and Medley instead.

Keep in mind that Color Collection is for paint colors for mixing. A product’s readily available colors will be shown on its product page in the Colors tab. Note that products that only come in one color, such as Boysen Acrytex which comes in white, will not have a Colors tab.

Ready to explore the app on your own? Download the Boysen App via the App Store for iOS users and the Play Store for Android users. Subscribe to the Let It B newsletter for more painting tips and tricks.
