We’ve written so many times about the different Boysen topcoats—what to use on which surface, the painting system that goes with each topcoat, and how to prepare the substrate for a product— before picking up a paint brush or roller.

For this video, Dave shows the different Boysen CLEAR topcoats that you can use to paint your surface and give it that superb finish.

Boysen Matte Shield

Boysen Matte Shield is an acrylic water-based clear matte coating. It’s ideally used for surfaces that you’d expect to have stains, like splash backs or kitchen cabinets. This product is designed and formulated to provide protection over paint topcoats especially if you opted for decorative finishes. It has excellent abrasion resistance and is low odor so it’s perfect for interior surfaces.

Boysen Matte Shield is not a varnish and cannot be used as such. It should not be applied on wood either, but only on concrete surfaces.

Boysen Aquaseal

Boysen Aquaseal is a silicone-based sealer designed to protect a wide variety of aboveground masonry and stone surfaces from water. It functions as a clear, penetrating sealer on porous substrates that repels water and moisture, like brick, concrete, rubble, and sandblast finish. It also minimizes unsightly efflorescence and enhances the appearance of natural stone.

Boysen Acrytex Clear Coat

Boysen Acrytex Clear Coat is an acrylic solvent-based coating that has excellent adhesion, long-term durability, and easy clean-up characteristics. It can only be applied onto bare substrates or surfaces painted with Acrytex products, like bricks, natural stone, masonry, and wooden surfaces.
