Tof Zapanta is a designer, art director, illustrator, and storyteller who isn’t afraid to immerse himself in the beauty of bareness and keep his mysterious aura. His take on the Enchant palette revels in the luxurious and sensual colors and figures, which is easily recognizable in many Tof Zapanta artworks.
For Tof, the word enchant “is a pleasant initial reaction to something or seeing someone [for the first time].” That’s probably what he felt when he was given the palette Enchant. He set out to make his own creative interpretation of the complementary colors of the Enchant palette. Tof said, “They go well in a light and dark situation.” The sudden pop of the bright pink in the middle of the dark tones balances out the palette and from there he visualized his piece.
Though his concept started out with the fear of the unknown, he pursued it bearing in mind a personal philosophy, “When we understand something, that’s when we find the beauty in the whole thing.”
In his artwork, he captures the story of a man under a night sky, who found his light in an enchantress. There’s certainly more to it but that is his magic. Tof leaves his audience wandering, craving for more.
