With a new year comes a new color of the year from Pantone. For 2024, the color management company has chosen Peach Fuzz, a pale shade of orange. With its understated charm, we think it’s a stunner of a color.
Compared to 2023’s Viva Magenta, Peach Fuzz is more subdued and sits comfortably in pastel territory. Pantone describes it as “a fresh approach to a new softness” and “sensitive but sweet and airy.”
They add, “While centered in the human experience of enriching and nurturing the mind, body, and soul, it is also a quietly sophisticated and contemporary peach with depth whose gentle lightness is understated but impactful, bringing beauty to the digital world.”
Life is Peachy
The message Pantone hopes Peach Fuzz delivers is not to be ignored as well, especially as we move forward into a future that feels like we’re connecting more and more to technology at the expense of detaching from others and ourselves.
“It needed to be a color whose warm and welcoming embrace conveyed a message of compassion and empathy. One that was nurturing and whose cozy sensibility brought people together and elicited a feeling of tactility,” says Pantone.
A sense of belongingness fulfills our need for acceptance and security. When we feel safe and supported by those around us, it gives us the confidence to believe in ourselves and pursue our goals.
Do you get the same fuzzy and warm feeling when you look at the color peach?
Peach at Home
Imagine stepping out to get fresh air and finding yourself bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. Comforting and familiar, peach can create a cozy and welcoming space when incorporated into the home whether it’s as wall paint, furniture, or home décor.
As wall paint, consider it for areas where you’ll benefit from its effects. For example, having it in the living room may make the space more inviting for guests. Consider it for the bedroom as well when the goal is to set up a room that you’ll love to get cozy in after a long day. Being a pastel shade, it could also work for a kid’s bedroom.
Getting Peach as Paint
The Boysen paint colors above are colors that can be found at Boysen’s The Color Library, a one-of-a-kind concept store with a thousand carefully collated paint colors. You can check out a selection of peach colors there and have them mixed on the spot as 250 mL or 1 L paints for you to take home.
Alternatively, you can also get peach paint colors at Boysen Mix and Match. Find a list of locations of stations here. They’re found in major home depots, hardware stores, and paint stores. Capable staff can have your paint color mixed and ready for you in minutes.
