I’ve always dreamt of having my very own beach house somewhere. Preferably in an isolated beach far away from the crowds. The house should be small. Nothing too big. I don’t want to spend my time away there cleaning and maintaining the house. But just because it’s small, it doesn’t have to be boring. For the design, I’m thinking of something in the middle of industrial and tropical. Does it sound like a weird combo to you? With the right finish and color, it doesn’t have to be! Let’s explore the colorful modern concrete look using the Koastal Finish from the Konstrukt Lunar Series.

Konstrukt Lunar Series Koastal

Konstrukt Lunar Series: A Guide to the Koastal Finish | MyBoysen

If you need a refresher, you can read all about the Koastal finish here. The Koastal finish features a coarse, sand-like texture. You can definitely leave it as is. It dries in this natural sandy beige color that actually really matches well with the minimalist or industrial look. But we want to make a love child between the industrial and tropical themes. You can do that by painting over the Koastal Finish with colored paint!

Hoping to inject a bit more energy into a space? Use an invigorating orange shade. However, we don’t want the space to be too activating. It’s a beach house! We go there to relax and unwind. For this lovely sitting area, we chose a more muted, burnt orange color. If you’re wondering, this hue is B-0996 Spice Cookie.

Blues are known to be very calming colors. They remind us of the wide expanse of sky and sea. What a perfect color to include in your dream beach home. Extend the colors of the outdoors indoors, too. After a day of lazing around the beach sunbathing, wouldn’t it be nice to have a nice cool shower? Create the most soothing shower and bath experience by painting the bathroom a cool blue hue. We used B-0471 Miracle Bay for this roomset.

No tropical palette would be complete without a punch of green. What’s a beach without palm fronds swaying in the breeze? For this living space, we chose a lighter shade of green aptly named Vacation Island. Yes, I would very much like to vacation in this house, please. Green is a very relaxing color. It feels safe and secure. We chose a green with a little bit of yellow in it to hype up the space.

Raring to go on building your dream beach home? Same. We chose these hues for a more tropical theme to help you get going. However, don’t forget that the Koastal finish itself must be applied by a seasoned professional. It’s quite hard to get it right with just DIY. But, you can definitely do the painting yourself! All the colors we featured here can be mixed into Permacoat Semi-Gloss Latex Paint. They are all from our Boysen Color Palette fandeck. You can have them mixed in any Mix & Match Station nationwide!

Some Final Thoughts

We have some more colorful modern concrete looks from Konstrukt Lunar Series coming soon. So if the Koastal finish doesn’t tickle your fancy, no worries! Summer is pretty much over at this point, sadly. But that won’t keep us from daydreaming about it, right? Got any more questions on Konstrukt Lunar Series or any beach themed homes?
