Filipino homes, especially those in cities, will often have a garage or parking area for cars incorporated into the design of the property. Usually, this is just enough for one or two vehicles and will have a concrete flooring. You might want to paint yours either for practical or aesthetic reasons. Here are products you can use:
Floors
Boysen Acqua Epoxy
Epoxy paints are the way to go when you’re looking to paint concrete floors. And, whether your garage is covered or not, Boysen Acqua Epoxy is a good choice.
It’s a water-based acrylic epoxy paint that’s ideal for both interior and exterior concrete and metal floorings as it is able to withstand foot and light vehicular traffic. It’s also formulated to resist stains, solvents, and low concentrations of acid and alkali.
Because it’s water-based, Boysen Acqua Epoxy is low-odor. You don’t get that strong chemical smell and it’s non-flammable too. Compared to solvent-based paints, it’s easier to apply and doesn’t need thinners or reducers. For clean-up, you’ll also only need water.
Boysen Epoxy Enamel
Here’s another epoxy paint product for concrete floors. If your garage is indoors and you want paint that’s extra durable and long-lasting, choose Boysen Epoxy Enamel.
Boysen Epoxy Enamel gives interior concrete and metal a smooth, glossy finish that’s meant to last. Its excellent mechanical and physical resistance protects the surface from typical abrasions from foot and light vehicular traffic. Paint color choices for Epoxy Enamel are also perfect for those looking for hues that are not overly bright.
Just take note that it is solvent-based so ensure there’s sufficient ventilation when painting and that you’re wearing proper protective equipment such as a face mask.
Traffic Markings
Boysen Alkyd Traffic Paint
Got a big garage? You may want to paint markings too. Boysen Alkyd Traffic Paint is a quick-drying, alkyd-based marking paint with excellent adhesion and durability. It is designed for use on street markings, curbs, and other areas where traffic lanes and safety zones are marked.
It is non-reflectorized and has a matte finish—which are its two main differences from Boysen Alkyd Reflectorized Traffic Paint. It’s available in three colors: white, yellow, and black.
Walls
Boysen Permacoat Latex
This is a go-to paint for a reason. For home concrete walls, including your garage, consider Boysen Permacoat Latex. It’s a 100% acrylic paint which makes it outstandingly durable, excellent at hiding imperfections and flaws, and is dirt pick-up resistant.
Boysen Permacoat dries to the touch in just an hour, needs only two hours per recoating, and already looks great with two coats of paint. It comes in a wide variety of readily available paint colors. Plus, you get more than a thousand more to choose from through Boysen Mix & Match stations.
