Kermit laments that it’s not easy being green. But if you have two international paint companies launching green as their color for 2027, it would be easy. Even easier for Filipinos is knowing that the color green in so many shades and tints have been available at Boysen for many decades now.
Trending Green Hues
Green is a beautiful color to use in the home because of its natural look and feel, which is why we keep talking about this color since we started this blog. Painting your walls green is important for a nature-inspired home or biophilic designed space. In 2020, when we were in the thick of the lockdowns during the pandemic, this kind of design came into focus because people realized that we needed a natural ambience in our homes to improve our wellbeing.
Two companies, one based in Europe and the other in the U.S., launched shades of green recently. They are muted green shades of sage and olive. Boysen also launches green paint regularly through its Color Trends.

Sage is a muted and earthy shade that has gray undertones. This color fits the need of people these days to have a healing lightness in their homes to help counter daily stresses encountered in the world outside.
The other green hue is a mossy olive with earthy brown undertones that could bring an ambience of depth and grounding in the home. Early this year, I wrote about the resurgence of browns, which people in the design industry call the “new blacks”. The new browns, like this mossy olive introduced for 2027, give an air of sophistication, but also of comfort, balance, stability, and dependability.
With all the technological development in the world today, people are expressing the longing to go back to something real and authentic, in our homes and in our relationships.

Olive Green
You will find lighter and brighter paint swatches in the above link, if you find the recently launched olive too dark for your taste. With these brighter olives, your home will look more light and cheerful, instead of moody and dramatic.
Sage
Hidden Glade, the sage color in this post, has more green tones and less gray, making it look fresher but still calming.
Key Points
Green is a beautiful color for interiors. It has become one of the nature-inspired choices in today’s interior design. The cool grays of the past have been replaced by the earthy hues shown here that give warmth and calm to a home. The shades presented are versatile neutrals that are easy to combine with other neutrals like white and cream, metallics like brass or gold, and earth tones like brown or terracotta.
