We’re interested in using Konstrukt products for our home. Hope you can give clarity on some of our questions regarding your Konstrukt Lunar Series finishes:
Question 1: Can we directly apply the Konstrukt Lunar Series finishes on bare concrete hollow blocks? Or, do we still need cement plastering before applying the Konstrukt finish?
Question 2: What wall preparations are needed before applying the finishes? Does it vary per Lunar design?
Question 3: Can all the Konstrukt Lunar Series finishes be applied to both interior and exterior surfaces?
Question 4: What waterproofing product do you recommend if we were to use a Konstrukt Lunar Series finish for exterior walls?
Question 5: Do you have accredited applicators of Konstrukt Lunar Series finishes that you can recommend?

All good questions! Let’s get started.
1. Can you apply the Konstrukt Lunar Series directly on bare concrete hollow blocks?
Nope. We strongly recommend that you plaster your concrete hollow blocks before you apply any of the Konstrukt Lunar Series finishes. You can’t take any shortcuts here. Otherwise, you’ll have to apply several layers of Lunar and what a waste that would be when you could have done plastering instead.
2. What wall preparations are needed before applying the Konstrukt Lunar Series finishes?
From your concrete hollow blocks, as mentioned, you will need to do plastering work first. Let the plaster cure. Then, clean the surface. Wipe off any dirt on the surface with a wet rag. There’s no need to neutralize. (a.k.a. apply a concrete neutralizer to the plastered wall). After, you can begin your application of your chosen Lunar Series finish.
Note that the surface preparation procedure does not vary whichever Lunar Series design you choose. All the designs in the Lunar Series make use of Konstrukt standard products from the same product category—you’re either using K-201 (Acrylic Skimcoat) or K-202 (Acrylic Render).
3. Can all the Lunar finishes be applied to both interior and exterior surfaces?
Yes, since all the products used for the Lunar Series designs can be applied on interior and exterior surfaces, all the finishes can be applied to both.
With that said, take note of the additional layers of protection recommended for each finish. This will vary but it will typically be a combination of these products: Boysen Acrytex Sealer, Boysen Matte Shield, Boysen Acrytex Clear Coat, and Boysen Permacoat Latex.
4. What waterproofing product do you recommend if we were to use a Konstrukt Lunar Series finish for exterior walls?
The Konstrukt products you’ll use to achieve the Lunar Series finishes provide water resistance of their own.
5. Do you have accredited applicators of Konstrukt Lunar Series finishes that you can recommend?
