So, you’ve got a small space that’s feeling too cramped for comfort. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. Color and light are your allies when making a small room feel larger, brighter, and airier.
After looking at the amount and quality of light in the room (switch out exposed fluorescent tube lights and consider more accent lighting!), turn your attention towards the colors on the walls. The right hues can uplift the space and bounce light around the room creating the effect of a bigger area.
Pastels for Small Spaces
Off-whites and neutrals are good choices if you want to achieve this effect. But, if you want to go a little more interesting and daring, pastels are the way to go. Pastels are youthful, fun, and bubbly. They take life a little less seriously and allow you room to get creative.
If you live in a busy area, pastels on your interiors can also feel refreshing and can act as stress relievers after a long tiring day. Easy on the eyes, they cool rooms down while remaining inviting and welcoming.
The Artistry Palette
As part of Boysen Color Trend, as you may know, Boysen releases four palettes every year or two under one overall theme. The theme for 2024 to 2025 is Ascension. And in Ascension, there’s a color palette named Artistry that’s composed mainly of pastels.
Artistry has a good mix of pastel colors that can suit a range of creative personalities. Open up your home to a lighter, brighter ambiance. Let us show you how you can use these hues at home!
Living Area
Lost in Thought BCT24-7023S
Many of us prefer to hang out in our living rooms. It makes sense that you want to make it inviting. Paint it in relaxing colors that you can spend a lot of time in. Enter Lost in Thought. The soft green is equally pleasing and subtle.
Kitchen
Fearless BCT24-7621S
Bring brightness to dark corners. A buttery yellow, like Fearless, is neither too bold nor too dull–it sits perfectly in between. Use it in a kitchen where it can bring sunshine to the room and chase away negative energy.
Camp Pink BCT24-7746S
You don’t have to paint your whole kitchen in pink. Take a different approach to paint and try it out as an accent color. Get playful! Isn’t that the whole point of pastel colors? See where else you can use Camp Pink in your home.
Bathroom
Daydream BCT24-7444S
In the hot Philippine climate, cool down with Daydream. It’s a refreshing and energizing color that mimics crystal-clear seas on a calm day. Step out of your bathroom in the morning ready to take on your day.
Eureka Moment BCT24-7443S
Here’s the lone color that’s not a pastel in the Artistry palette. Eureka Moment is a stylish blue hue that you can also use for your bathroom. Paired with white fixtures, it gives the room a classic look.
Bedroom
Vibe is Alive BCT24-7445S
Aim for a tranquil bedroom and get the rest that you deserve. Get a good night’s sleep with a purple shade like Vibe is Alive. Restful and calming, purple on bedroom walls creates a conducive environment for slumber.
