The entryway or the foyer of your home serves as the first impression for guests and sets the tone for the rest of your interior space. Here are some tips to create a stylish yet functional entryway that welcomes you home with flair.
Clean and Tidy, Always
Start by decluttering the space. Remove any unnecessary items and only keep essentials like shoe racks, small cabinets, or baskets for your everyday things. You can also opt for multifunctional furniture pieces that offer storage solutions (like a bench with built-in storage) to save on space.
Keeping your entryway tidy can also set the tone for how you start your day. Having your essentials on-hand and ready before you rush out the door can be a game changer. Allocate specific spaces for important items such as keys, wallets, umbrellas, and bags. Go ahead and add some of your personal touches to your organization game. Mirror, Mirror
Mirrors are practical choices for entryways, especially for last minute fit checks. (And maybe a quick OOTD selfie to start your day). They can also visually enlarge the space and reflect more light, making cramped entryways feel brighter and more spacious. Opt for stylish mirrors in decorative frames or ones with a more modern cut, depending on your home’s aesthetic. Can’t seem to find the perfect mirror? Why not build your own? Don’t Forget the Greens
Incorporating plants and fresh flowers into your entryway adds life, color, and a breath of fresh air to the space. Choose low-maintenance plants such as succulents or air plants that thrive in indoor environments and add a touch of greenery without requiring much upkeep.
If keeping plants alive and thriving is too much for you right now, consider painting your foyer with lush greens instead. Bring the outdoors in! Here, we’re using Nature Walk (or you can also use Life Sprout) to bring in a touch of nature into the space.
Abundance Color Palette
Creating a stylish and functional entryway or foyer is all about balance—balancing aesthetics with practicality, personal style with functionality, and incorporating colors that reflect your personality and your home’s overall design scheme.
All the colors we featured here are from the Abundance Color Palette of Boysen Color Trend 2024/2025. These hues can be mixed in two bases: Permacoat Semi-Gloss and Virtuoso Silk Touch. Permacoat Semi-Gloss is a water-based paint that can be applied on both interior and exterior concrete surface; and as the name implies, it comes in a semi-gloss sheen. The latter, on the other hand, is a low-odor, low-VOC interior paint that dries to a luxurious matte finish. Virtuoso is also formulated with an easy-clean technology that makes wiping away common household dirt and stains from walls a breeze.
