Heavy downpours can wreak all sorts of havoc on a home. Strong winds, of course, can cause breakages and damage. However, even just the water and moisture from rain can lead to paint problems. Make sure your home is ready for whatever the weather brings. Here are Boysen paint products that provide protection.
1. Boysen Acrytex
Who could forget the iconic preso commercial? Boysen Acrytex has become a Pinoy household name thanks to how good of a product it is as exterior paint for homes.
Boysen Acrytex’s acrylic solvent-based formulation makes it exceptionally hardy. It’s specially designed to be a long-lasting paint product. It adheres firmly to the surface it’s painted on and forms a watertight coating that repels water and prevents seepage. Its durability also makes it unlikely that you’ll see it crack, flake, peel, or discolor anytime soon. It will be a long while before you see it aging.
Just remember that Boysen Acrytex is recommended to be used on new concrete or concrete previously painted with Boysen Acrytex. Do not apply it over oil-based and water-based coatings.
2. Boysen Plexibond
Boysen Plexibond is a cementitious waterproofing system. It works by creating a seamless, impenetrable layer that disperses water upon contact. Because of this, Plexibond is applied in places that come in direct contact with water and moisture. This is called positive-side waterproofing.
There are several areas of the home that would benefit from Plexibond’s positive-side waterproofing. According to Boysen engineers, in typical Filipino houses, these will include firewalls, canopies, and roof decks.
Remember, however, that Boysen Plexibond should only be used on bare concrete surfaces. This means you shouldn’t apply it on other materials or surfaces that already have paint on them. If you do want to use it somewhere that already has existing paint, you will need to scrape the surface back to bare.
3. Boysen Roofgard
One part of your home that surely sees a lot of water during the rainy season is your roof. Because of this, you need reliable roof paint like Boysen Roofgard.
What makes Boysen Roofgard good at what it does is its excellent adhesion to your roof’s surface. This ensures that the paint film remains intact for a longer period of time and therefore helps protect your roof from rusting. Rusting is a surefire way to get holes and leaks.
