We’re taking a trip down memory lane in search of the most iconic Boysen commercials. In between televised boxing match rounds or mixed in with afternoon teleseryes, we’re guessing you’ve already seen at least a few of these!

Boysen commercials have a unique flavor to them. They’re memorable for their quirkiness and sense of humor. But, aside from that, they’re also undeniably and unashamedly Pinoy. They reflect the cheery and lighthearted approach to life that’s second nature to Filipinos even when things get tough. We are like the turtle in the “La Niña” commercial—we can sing and dance our way through storms.

Without further ado, let these Boysen commercials bring some sunshine to your day.

1. Boysen Acrytex “Preso”

First on this list is arguably the most iconic Boysen commercial to date. Preso tells the tale of an inmate serving his time in prison. The story begins with him as a young man looking through the barred window of his cell as workers paint the exterior walls of the prison with Boysen Acrytex. No spoilers on what happens next but we probably all already know where the story leads to anyway.

Some quick facts. Did you know that there are two versions of the “Preso” song? Version 1 is the one above and you can find version 2 here. Here’s another tidbit: the preso has a name and it’s Celso! You can follow more of his story (yes, he does get out of prison!) in a mini web series on Youtube and Studio B, Boysen’s free streaming service.

2. Boysen Roofgard “Dracula”

You just can’t help but take a liking to the duo in the “Dracula” Boysen commercials, especially Cardo who is ever loyal to his undead master. His abaca fan is just as effective at shielding Dracula from the sun as their holey roof—which is to say not very effective at all. Good thing there’s Boysen Roofgard.

If we could give one piece of advice to Dracula’s dependable companion, though, it’s to be safe when climbing ladders. It’s not a good idea to have both hands full! Safety first, Kuya Cardo.

3. Boysen Acrytex “La Niña”

Be careful with this Boysen commercial. There’s a high chance of it getting stuck in your head for at least the rest of the day. You’ll be humming to “Who’s afraid of La Niña? Who’s afraid of signal 1, 2, 3?” without realizing it. And who can blame you? It really is very catchy and just the thing to lift spirits when storm clouds are about. Thank you, Boysen Acrytex turtle.

4. Boysen Healthy Home “Yoga”

This one has a “twist” ending! On stressful days, follow the example of the attendees of this yoga session and breathe deeply in and out. No need to worry about sharp paint smells if you’ve just repainted your walls either. Boysen Healthy Home is odor-less so usual activities at home, the office, and other places like the yoga studio can go uninterrupted. It’s antibacterial too and has a satin finish that dries to a soft luster.

Remember, true peace comes from the inner self. And then maybe continues outwards to find Boysen Healthy Home on its walls.

5. Boysen Permacoat “Home Sweet Home”

Nothing says “home sweet home” like having your loved ones around you. Though we don’t advise covering up relentless and nagging problems as a way to solve them (band-aid solutions don’t work in the long term!), we can definitely attest to the excellent hiding capabilities of Boysen Permacoat.

Not to worry, love wins in the end so the two in the commercial have most likely resolved their issues by now—hopefully. Communication is key, everyone.
