They say that you usually learn your lesson but you don’t always remember it. That’s why we’re here to remind you again to keep yourself healthy and make your home a safe space. Here, we made a list of ways to create a healthy home, AKA the things that should be running like clockwork in every household.
Taking Care of Your Mental Health
Not sure if looking at pictures of Harry Styles works for me, but if it does wonders for you, then do what you must to relieve stress.
The first thing on your to-do list is to take care of your mental health. Mental health is also important in the time of coronavirus. The state of our mind seems to always be an afterthought because when people are mentally unhealthy, they seem fine on the outside. You may look calm sitting at your desk while your mind is in chaos—imagining the worst case scenarios. It’s essential to pay full attention to your mental health just as much as you care for your body. If you’re constantly anxious and stressed, you’re more susceptible to illnesses and diseases. Nourishing Your Body
Now that you’ve decided that movie marathons are your stress reliever, you might find yourself binge-watching to a point where you’re losing sleep, or simultaneously binge-watching and binge-eating. Oh, honey, no! You should not wait for any health issues to come up before you become mindful of what you do to your body. Start asking yourself if you’re eating the right food, if you’re getting enough sleep, and if you’re putting an effort to exercise. I know that it can be challenging to make healthy choices in the middle of a pandemic. Sometimes, you just want the comfort that only an enormous amount of carbs can give. I get it because I can’t even squeeze in a 30-second plank in a day although I have too much time on my hands.
It’s difficult to break these bad habits but choosing a healthy lifestyle is not an option anymore. It is now a must so you can boost your immune system, and protect yourself and your loved ones from getting sick. Sleep eight hours a day, workout daily, and eat fruits and vegetables.
Okay, fine, you can have a cookie but just one or two. Moderation is key.
Maintaining A Clean and Safe Home
Today there is a growing concern for cleanliness, and getting diseases from bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella should be the last thing you should worry about. You may want to consider painting your home with Boysen Healthy Home to ease one of your worries away. It has an antibacterial protection technology that helps fight bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella. It also prevents the growth of fungi and mildew on painted surfaces. However, this antibacterial paint is NOT formulated to kill viruses like Covid-19.
We also wrote about keeping your home clean in the time of Covid-19 at length in this post. In essence, you must remember to wash your hands, clean high-touch surfaces, sanitize everything in sight, and stay indoors. Repeat until it becomes an indelible chant in your head.
Home should be a place where you want to escape to, not escape from. It should be your solace in these uncertain times. Let’s take every precaution in keeping our home safe and healthy, and hope for the best.
