Live it up during the holidays!
I don’t mean carousing until the dead of night or the break of day, but you can do that too if that brings you joy. What I mean by “live it up” during the holidays is to spend your time in a very enjoyable way. It does not matter if you are spending a lot of money or not, being with other people or not, painting the town red or snuggled up in the bedroom drinking hot tea instead of a glass of booze.
It’s all about attitude.
I mentioned in a previous blog post to do something special for your home this holiday season by taking out the merry and bright Christmas stuff from storage and dressing up your living space with them. This ritual is as much for your home as for you and your family or household members. Bonding together like this brings good juju into the house.
Live It Up
I do understand that it can be challenging to haul in that 8 foot tree from wherever you stashed it, then twirl the Christmas lights around, then add the decors and tinsel one by one, then the star. Now how to make sure that the pet kitty (or doggy) does not climb it and make it come crashing down? You’re on your own here. I don’t have pets.
As inspiration, I am going to use the LIVE color palette of Boysen Color Trend 2022/23, as well as the exact interior images used in this post. This time though, I added some Christmas decor that’s more manageable than a huge tree.
Cool Tides and Mellow Mint
The gray and blue-green color combination looks cool and chic. Keep the laid-back vibe by adding a wreath of dark green foliage on the wall that has objects in cool colors (like metallics—gold, silver, copper, or brass) and white accents. Adding cinnamon sticks would give it an organic vibe.
Marine Sanctuary and Sahara Sunset
I love this vibrant and warm color combination of orange and blue, which is always a winning combo since these are complementary colors that sit across each other on the color wheel. Make it happier and Christmasy with a white tree painted on the wall. You can add balls or lights or whatever else takes your fancy but I prefer this simple line drawing. The white looks crisp and clean against the orange and blue colors. Positioning it where the diagonal line is gives this Christmas decor a quirky look that makes it really interesting.
This may not be as easy as hanging a Christmas wreath but this line drawing of a tree is squiggly enough for beginners who feel a bit nervous. So draw that tree with pencil then pick up that brush.
Silver Streak and Hidden Oasis
This is the easiest Christmas decor you can do. Beautiful, organic, and fancy enough to glam up your already glam bathroom. Since poinsettias need sunlight, get two pots at least so you can bring in one as the other is enjoying the sunbathing.
Go For Easy Christmas Decor
Cut down on the fuss and have just a few Christmas decors that give a festive air to your home. You don’t have to make it look like a boutique store. I know that there are a lot of beautiful stuff to be had out there. All kinds of sales and promos have been going on for months to help us get rid of our hard-earned peso. Personally, I’d rather spend on unforgettable experiences with family and friends.
It’s the first Christmas that we can be together with our loved ones after more than two years so let’s make Christmas 2022 a special one. Enjoy each moment and live it up during the holidays.
